Herbs in Action
  • Wild Cherry bark: Prunus serotina is found throughout North America. In addition to its edible fruits, both the fruit and bark are used to make medicine. Wild Cherry bark is used to soothe irritated throats, ease coughing, soothe the bronchioles, and support lung discomforts. It promotes strong respiratory function and supports a healthy inflammatory response throughout the body.
  • Pleurisy root: Asclepias tuberosa has a particular affinity for the lungs and helps support respiratory health and function.
  • Grindelia Aerials: Grindelia robusta is also commonly called Gumweed for its sticky resinous flowers. It is commonly used as an herbal remedy for coughs and respiratory congestion. Grindelia soothes coughs and the urge to cough, supports a balanced mucosal lining, making it effective in support of the entire respiratory system.
  • Mullein leaf: Verbascum thapsus has an affinity for the lungs and was traditionally used to soothe occasional cough. Its demulcent properties make it wonderful support for dry and irritated lung tissues. Mullein leaf supports a healthy inflammatory response and encourages healthy microbial balance and immune response.
  • Elecampane root: The root of Inula helenium supports comfortable breathing and respiratory wellness. Elecampane root nourishes healthy lung function and promotes overall respiratory performance.
  • Goldenseal root: Hydrastis canadensis is a perennial plant that has been used in traditional medicine to support mucus membrane wellness and healthy microbial balance. This herb supports a healthy inflammatory response and maintains healthy microbial balance. It is commonly taken to soothe seasonal discomforts, sinus discomforts, respiratory discomforts, and mucosal discomforts.
  • Licorice root: Glycyrrhiza glabra is thought to have soothing and airway opening effects, allowing for better respiratory function. This sweet-tasting root has been treasured in traditional medicine for centuries and is known to support healthy mucus membranes, help maintain optimal adrenal function, and promote a balanced inflammatory response throughout the body.
  • Marshmallow root: Althaea officinalis can act as an expectorant and offers benefits including moistening a dry mouth, easing coughs, and helping to line and protect the throat. Marshmallow has been known to moisten and soften tissues and helps to maintain an optimal inflammatory response.
  • Orange peel: Citrus sinensis plays a very important role in this powerful histamine-balancing formula. It directs the partnering herbs' movement by binding to bitter receptor points and moving herbs quickly around the body. The bitter compounds, like tannins and organic citric or malic acids move throughout our lymphatic systems, however they begin their work with the bitter signals in the mouth called 25 T2R receptors.
